The existence of Area 51, also known as Dreamland and Groom Lake, has been common knowledge for a long time know, and even the government has vaguely acknowledged that the base existed. But now some recently released documents by the CIA confirm its existence. But the documents only state that the base was used to test secret spy aircraft, and not to reverse engineer UFOs. "Watch out! He's got his probe!" The man who put Area 51 on the UFO map is not impressed by newly declassified CIA documents that acknowledge the existence of the facility but say it was used to test U-2 spy planes - not flying saucers. "Everybody has known that for 25 years or so," said Bob Lazar, who came forward in 1989 with a tale of government scientists tinkering with alien spacecraft at a military base in the Nevada desert. "Tell us something we don't know." A controversial figure even in the UFO community, Lazar claimed that as a government scientist he was taken to Area 51 near Groom Lake and then put to work at a facility called S4 about 15 miles south. By his account, flying discs powered by anti-matter reactors with seats too small for humans were being tested at S4 - reverse-engineered by the U.S. to create its own futuristic technology. Although his story was ridiculed by skeptics, it turned Area 51 into a magnet for tourists, ufologists and conspiracy theorists. The government had little to say about Area 51 until the release of a 20-year-old CIA history made public through a Freedom of Information request filed by George Washington University's National Security Archive back in 2005 and approved in June. The document says the facility, which served as a gunnery range during World War II, was transformed into a test and training site for the U-2s and its successors, the Lockheed A-12 Oxcart, the D-21 Tagboard and even the F-117 stealth fighter. The history makes no mention of little green men, spaceships or anything else that's out of this world. Lazar, who said he now runs a private consulting firm and wants nothing to do with UFO enthusiasts, isn't surprised - saying all the extraterrestrial work went on at S4. "That's a minuscule baby step forward," Lazar said of the Area 51 disclosures. "Maybe a decade from now they'll acknowledge there's an S4." Richard Boylan, who claims to have had encounters with "star visitors" along Nevada's so-called Extraterrestrial Highway 375, said he had to "stifle a yawn" when he heard the CIA had finally 'fessed up that Area 51 is an actual place. After all, he said, he infiltrated the base and saw with his own eyes spacecraft being tested and flown and friendly visitors from outer space arriving to work with government scientists - activities that he believes are being covered up by a "shadow government." "They say Area 51 is real? Duh!" he said. "That's not even one cent on the dollar of what the government knows and should be admitting to." But others welcomed the CIA confirmation, limited as it was. "It makes you feel a little bit better that not everybody is crazy," said Dirk Vander Ploeg, publisher of UFO Digest. The belated acknowledgment is a reminder that the government is good at keeping secrets, he said. "It makes you think if they have all this new aircraft and all this stealth technology, what else do they have out there? What else haven't they told us." Alejandro Rojas, co-organizer of the International UFO Congress and an editor of Open Minds Magazine, said now that Area 51 is no longer being redacted from CIA documents, future Freedom of Information requests may yield more revelations. And it might lend credence to other out-there theories. "Once it got this association with aliens and UFOs, a lot of people doubted Area 51 even existed," said Rojas, who added that he is "agnostic" on the question of whether ET research was done at the site. "There are people now going, 'Oh, it really does exist!' I hope it does demonstrate that a lot of what UFO researchers are saying is credible." Bob Lazar, while always an interesting figure, has proven to be controversial at best. The CIA really has't said anything that we already didn't know. Ultimately, this is just another in a long line of "revelations" by the government that UFO enthusiasts are going to pounce on as evidence for the existence of UFOs, and the skeptics will continue to use as ammunition against the existence of UFOs. Last year, on New Year's Day 2012, there was a rash (or flap) of UFO sights across the country. Since there is an average of three UFO reports per days in Canada, having more than a dozen is rather curious. That's all: curious.
But this year, it happened again.
January 1, 2013, saw many UFO sightings reported to various websites and organizations across Canada, including Vike, Davenport, Ufology Research, PSICAN and others. There are a few possible reasons, as I see it. First, there are more people outside on New Year's Eve than most nights during the Canadian winter. hence, more potential witnesses. Second, the oft-invoked Chinese lanterns are definitely launched on New Year's Eve by revelers.
Sightings from New Year's Day are split between early-morning sightings and early evening reports. The former are likely caused by a combination of the two effects noted above. Why there would be a cluster of evening cases is not clear.

In the old days, there were a handful of 1970s documentaries about Bigfoot, perhaps a few more in the 80s and 90s. It seems the past 10-15 years, the documentaries took hold and now we have a huge variety to choose from. I admit that my idea of a perfect rainy Sunday is to put on Bigfoot documentaries back to back all day long. Of course, living in the desert, a rainy day lands on a Sunday about 2 days a year, so sometimes I have to fudge it and close the blinds and turn down the air-conditioner.
I found some new ones I'm reviewing for y'all. They come from Grendel Films.
The first one was Spotlight on the Patterson Gimlin Film. Regular readers might know about the post I did about MK Davis. Since opening a conversation with him and getting to know his work and how he goes about it, I have a serious nerd admiration for this video expert. I have only a handful of folks in the BF world I trust and MK is one of the top two. Being able to see a documentary showing how he went about being the first to stabilize the Patterson-Gimlin film just blew my mind away. He is a very well spoken and well thought out man. No ego. No agendas. Just wants the best detail he can obtain so folks can look at the film and take everything in and have the best quality to make their own personal judgements by. This is one of my favorites in my collection now.
Next up, were two films: "Keeping the Watch" and "Keeping the Watch Volume 2." If you like to listen to the witness accounts on "Finding Bigfoot" and other shows, you will enjoy these two. There are some quite credible and also very detailed accounts by a wide variety of witnesses. It's compelling to sit and dive into their story and imagine yourself in their scenarios.
I already greatly enjoyed Hunt for the Dogman also out by Grendel Films. It's nice to see a documentary filmmaker pumping out plenty of cryptid material for us paranormal geeks who want to get our creature fixation satisfied. That dogman documentary was very good and he accounts were positively chilling.
All in all, I can't complain having found 4 new DVDs to add to my collection and be pleased to rerun on those slow Sundays.

His website has details of the various tours available, and when he contacted me, he informed me that he was receiving several requests for guided tours in Roswell pertaining to the 1947 Roswell Incident, and wondered if I would be interested in doing a Roswell tour.Since starting my research of the Roswell Incident over 25 years ago, my main objective has always been to obtain what factual information I could and share that information with the public in interviews, lectures or writing editorials. Doing tours would of course open another source for sharing my research. I accepted the challenge Tony offered and had my first tour shortly thereafter. My first request for a tour was from a young lady from New Zealand. Since then I have done tours with people from England, Mexico and Canada, in addition to many from within the United States. Most of the people that have requested tours have contacted me through Tony at his website, while a few have contacted me directly either by my email address truthseeker@dfn.com or by telephone at (575) 625 8402. During the tours at each location on the itinerary I explain the significance of each location, the people that were involved there in 1947 and am able to share information that many had not heard or read about before in books or seen in TV documentaries. Many of the people that have taken the tours have commented afterwards that I provided an insight they hadn't heard or didn't know before taking the tour.The tours are fairly consistent in length usually taking approximately 2 hours to complete. Photograph opportunities are available at each location, and I always welcome questions about a certain location in order to better inform those taking the tour about what occurred at a certain location or who or what was involved there. Unfortunately several of the structures or buildings no longer exist as they did in 1947, however I am able to explain what was at a certain location and the significance it had as related to the 1947 Incident. Since I furnish the transportation for the tours, I have limited small groups to 3 or 4 people, however other arrangements can be made for larger groups such as bus tours. In the case of larger groups that are staying over night in Roswell at a local hotel I also offer to do a lecture for those groups if desired. Tours can be arranged for mornings or afternoons; whichever fits the traveler's schedule best.Since the time people stay in Roswell varies from a few hours to a few days, the various Museums in town are not included in the tour, but I always recommend that if their time permits, I strongly suggest visiting one or all of the Museum's Roswell has to offer. sept 25thAn Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, man witnessed and took photographs September 17, 2009, of a low flying UFO overhead in Scarborough, according to a statement released by Paul Shishis. The photographed object does not fit standard UFO descriptions of disc and triangle-shaped objects, but appeared to "morph" in shape, according to Shishis. He said the object was 100 yards away and between 300 and 500 feet in altitude, when it appeared to "open up," and then "looked like a long sheet of some material - that was approximately 10 to 15 feet in length." FOLLOWING IS THE UNEDITED STATEMENT SHISHIS RELEASED SEPTEMBER 25, 2009 AS A LETTER TO "JOHN BRO."Hi John, I'm in shock once again man. I 'm real busy at work //-home -bummer - considering all that is happening ! Now here we go again! 3 sightings today. Immediately, I was startled to see that - approximately 500 yds away - there it was again. I then saw a brilliant, white object - hovering to the north of me. This one appeared to be about a quater- mile away - and maybe a half mile in altitude. I then took some more pictures and a video clip. I have tried to photograph the white stationary ones in the past - but they never seem to show up in my photos. I have seen what looks like a red light or "aura" around others - and haven't been able to image them. But today I was able to. Summary: One of the very best photographs ever taken of a triangular UFO was snapped by an anonymous cameraman in Belgium in April of 1990. Recognized by anyone familiar with UFOs, it became the cornerstone of the Belgian UFO wave of 1989. On November 29, 1989, a triangular UFO with lights sparking underneath was seen by multiple witnesses-three groups of policemen included. This began a case which still baffles investigators today.
First Sightings: The first night of sightings was only the beginning of one of the best documented and witnessed UFO waves ever. On more than one occasion, two F-16 fighter jets chased the unknown flying crafts, but without results. One of the most notable sightings of the wave came on March 30, 1990 from a Belgian National Police captain, who watched a giant, triangle UFO passing overhead. Two separate radar stations corroborated the sighting.
Radar Stations Report: The triangle was moving very low, and very slowly over the landscapes of Belgium near the city of Glons, which is southeast of Brussels. A NATO manned radar station was reporting the object, and they soon found that four more stations also were getting a return from the object. The flying object would not answer hails to identify itself, and sent no transponder signal. Jets would be sent to find the object.
F-16s Sent to Intercept: Two American-made F-16s were scrambled by the military to intercept and identify the object. One of the jet radars did lock on the object, which appeared as a diamond shape on the screen. Seconds after the lock on, the UFO quickly moved out of the plane's radar range. The F-16 went after the UFO, but after a chase that lasted an hour, the UFO escaped unidentified, except for two more radar returns.
Beyond Our Technology: The F-16 pilot knew that he was chasing something that had speed and maneuverability far beyond the capabilities of his jet. At one point, radar returns showed that the UFO had dropped from 10,000 to 500 feet altitude in 5 seconds, an unbelievable move. The sightings of the giant triangles continued for months, being witnessed over and over again. They often flew low enough to easily be seen with the naked eye.
Getting a Photograph: The sighting wave became a big story in the Belgian media, and it became apparent that getting a photograph of the UFOs was almost impossible... many witnesses snapped photos of the triangles, only to see blurred imagery. This unusual occurrence was investigated by physics professor Auguste Meesen, who discovered that infrared light was not allowing the objects to be photographed.
Finally Captured on Video Tape: Finally, one good video film was taken of the object. The image showed the bottom of the triangular shape, with three red spotlights on the corners. The photograph associated with the Belgian wave is actually a frame capture taken from the video. The film was taken over the town of Petit Rechain.
Classic Status: The Belgium wave has obtained classic status in UFO lore. With over 1,000 witnesses, confirmed radar sightings, plane radar lock-ins, and military confirmations, the fact that an unknown craft moved across the country of Belgium cannot be denied. The case is also important for its unique information sharing. Civilian and military officials were forthcoming with the reports, and set a model for others to follow in their pursuit to uncover the mystery behind the UFO enigma.

EYE-WITNESS REPORT:

STEPHENVILLE, Texas - A decade ago, amid the popularity of the X Files television show on Sunday night on FOX 4, Richard Ray ran a periodic series of reports called the Tex Files which focused on legitimate Texas mysteries worthy of X Files' plots. This week Richard brings us a new case that's widely known as the Stephenville UFOs.
It was a story that attracted international attention. Dozens of credible people reported seeing unidentified flying objects over Stephenville, Texas. Erath County Constable Lee Roy Gaitain risked ridicule and abuse to publicly describe remarkable things they'd seen in the skies over Stephenville on January 8th, 2008.
The initial reports sparked a media frenzy and attracted the attention of the Mutual UFO Network, or MUFON, a group of UFO enthusiasts. The group organized an event for witnesses to come forward and tell their stories. I was in the Army at Ft. Irwin California in the Mojave Desert. It was around 2 AM in the morning. Was as clear of a sky as you could ask for. A friend and I were on Guard duty as everyone was sleeping. We were talking just doing our shift. We were not far from a mountain when we seen this object following the ridge line of the top of the mountain it was not moving fast at this point. The object was casting a solid light downward that was in a shape of a upside down cone. Meaning it was very narrow to wider. This object we just watched it go the length of the mountain at the top shining the light down. It made absolutely no noise at all. I have personally been on and seen most all of the military aircraft while in the military. It was not a military aircraft or any aircraft myself or my friend had ever seen. After the craft got to the end of the mountain top it moved very swiftly to the left or East. Maybe a mile or so from the mountain. This was just over our head maybe I would guess 1000 to 1500 feet above us. Light still shining downward. Then,in an instant, the light reversed to the top of the aircraft shining upward. All at the same time in that same instant (bare with me it is difficult to describe what happened so you can visualize it)the light at that instant was shining in a cone shape making a not so big ring circle. The craft just ascended upward at a speed so fast it was gone instantly. When it ascended and instantly gone it made a very loud boom. Then the amazing part of this with the light. This is not easy to describe. Craft ascends in direction of the ring of light goes through the ring very loud boom and now the ring of light gets so bright it is like its day. While that is going on the Ring is expanding exponentially from the small ring of light to getting bigger and bigger at same time getting less bright as it gets bigger until it dissipates into nothing From what my friend and I could see from what I remember about it. The craft was kind of chevron shaped. It was a very interesting experience. My friend and I made the decision not to talk about it to anyone. As we were not sure how the military would react to us. I was in Artillery and I don't know what the protocol is when someone in the military would report such an event. Honestly I don't care what anyone thinks or believes me or not I know what I seen. My friend and I did not want to take the chance and find out. I am very sure other people had seen it as we were not the only ones out their in the desert. I had thought about reporting this story to MUFON a long time ago. I just felt like someone else should know. I would like to know if anyone has ever seen a similar event. There were more reports the night of March 28."They're coming in about as fast as we can take them," Dean reiterated. "They tend to fall into three categories, single lights in the sky twice as bright as Venus which are colored yellow, white and silver, five lights in a triangle shape with a brilliant white light on the leading edge, and two parallel lines of white dots in the sky, ranging from 3 to 5 objects."When asked for details on the triangular object, Dean said that reports indicated it was very large. "People said that there were two lights down each side in formation, attached to a large, structured triangular object which was as large as a silver dollar held at arms length."Dean said that the Evansville, Indiana station has received somewhere around three hundred UFO reports since Monday, March 23."We contacted NORAD (in Colorado Springs, CO) and Evansville (Indiana) FAA Flight Service. Colorado is reporting no re-entry of any kind.
