Many of the contact cases we dealt with were told by their alien contact to move to Arizona or Colorado. We felt the urge to go on a long trip to find a place for them where they could be self sufficient and feel safe.
Another couple in the group had a motor home. They volunteered to go with us. We were traveling all over the southwest. When we reached Flagstaff, Arizona we suddenly remembered Pat McGuire's ranch in Wyoming. We had met Pat McGuire when we attended the Rocky Mountain UFO Conference in Laramie, Wyoming in 1981.
Pat's ranch had been confiscated for taxes. He farmed over 5,000 acres of wheat land. Some of this land had cattle on it.
We decided to call Pat and ask about the possibility of purchasing the property. He was asking one and a half million dollars for it. The other couple thought they could find sponsors willing to put the money up. So we drove to Laramie by way of the Navajo Indian Reservation.
When we reached Antonito, Colorado we saw signs of an approaching turquoise factory. All jewelry was made in-house by the Navajo Indians. Of course, I had to stop there. That is where I bought my turquoise squash blossom necklace.
That evening we stayed at the KOA in Alamosa, Colorado. Alamosa is in the fertile San Luis Valley. I didn't know then that the San Luis Valley would become very important to me in the future. Alamosa is known in UFOlogy for the Harry King Ranch. It was on Harry King's ranch that "Snippy" the horse was mutilated. This was the first mutilation to be made public. We decided to visit Harry's ranch. Harry was then about 80 years old.
As you travel out toward the Great Sand Dunes National Monument you will see Mt. Blanca on the east side of the highway. Many unusual events have taken place on that mountain. If you keep watching you will see a little sign on a fence on the west side of the highway that says King Ranch. As you drive down a little desert road you will see Australian Jack Rabbits hopping all over. Harry imported those jack rabbits a long time ago. They are huge. Twice as big as a Washington Jack Rabbit. They have long black legs and black tails.
I understand another animal that was imported to the San Luis Valley for sport is the Jaguar. In fact it is becoming quite prolific.
When you arrive at the gate to the King Ranch you see signs saying "Stay Out, this means you," etc. We started honking the horn. Harry finally came out and walked up to the gate. We explained who we were so he asked us to come in. Seems we have a mutual friend from the Seattle area.
The next several hours were some of the most interesting I have spent before or since. Harry told us that Snippy was not his horse but had been pastured there, it belonged to his sister. In the evening they had fed Snippy and he was just fine. In the morning when they went to the corral Snippy was dead.
For those who are not familiar with this case, you could not imagine the sight that awaited Harry and his sister. Snippy's head was completely stripped from the neck up. The brain cavity was empty, as was the spinal fluid. The college at Alamosa took Snippy's body away. The bones are still there.
After the story became known, UFO investigators came from everywhere to interview Harry. One that lived in New Mexico, and later moved to Seattle, came to visit Harry. Only this one came purportedly in a small UFO (this came stright out of Harry's mouth!) with little landing wheels on the bottom. I never did make the connection between the man I knew in Seattle, and this person, unless Harry had the name of the person mixed up. He said that this person landed in the yard and told him he was going to give him a ride one of these days. Harry said that these little craft were seen quite often on Mt. Blanca and over the highway in front of the ranch. He had watched what looked like headlights from cars go up and down Mt. Blanca at night, as well as black helicopters coming out of the valleys. While we were there we saw four of the black helicopters coming from behind the mountains. We wondered what they could have been doing in such a desolate place.
An investigation has been done on the Mt. Blanca phenomenon. Dr. R. Leo Sprinkle wrote a paper on unusual events that took place in the vicinity. I carried it in the Missing Link in 1982 and 1983 under the name, "Rocky Mountain Ranch."* Dr. Sprinkle was in attendance when some of the things took place. This phenomena included everything from aliens to UFOs to Sasquatch.
More than his interest in the Snippy story, Harry wanted to tell us what was even more spectacular to him. The story is about Adolph Hitler!
Four days before the war ended in Germany Harry said that he ran smack dab right into Adolph Hitler coming out of the bank in Alamosa. Not too many persons knew that Hitler owned a big horse ranch in the Denver area before the war. They also didn't know that Hitler's cousin was the banker in Alamosa. Harry had come into town to go to the bank. All the college kids were out on the street yelling, "Hitler, Hitler." He went around the corner to approach the bank door and ran straight into him. He swore it happened. He said it looked exactly like him. Harry said there was a lot of theorizing that Hitler had parachuted into the valley to pick up his money and go to South America. Since then I have paid attention to the stories about Hitler being seen in South America since the war. I still wonder.....
When we left Alamosa we headed north to Laramie through Steamboat Springs, then up and over the beautiful Rabbit Ear Pass.
When we arrived in Laramie we arranged a meeting with the UFO group there, explaining what we had in mind. From that point on we chose to travel by ourselves as the other couple had a different plan in mind.
To our dismay, we found they wanted to start a city for "Senior Citizens," plus contactees. They would be in charge of the city. The plan was to build houses for the citizens with a grandfather clause that stated upon their death the houses would revert back to this couple. The citizens would give their pensions every month to cover their living expenses. Sort of a megalopolis.
While in Laramie we looked in the local "Boomerang" newspaper for possible employment. At the time we were camped at the KOA Campground on the edge of town. To our surprise the KOA was advertising for a husband and wife manager team for their campground in Arlington, Wyoming. We called for an interview. The owner said to come right over. That didn't take long - his office was right there on the grounds of the KOA where we were staying. He asked if we would like to go up to Arlington first and look the place over before making any decision. That afternoon we drove up there. Boy was it desolate! Out on I-80 in the middle of nowhere. An old stage stop was there in long past days. There were still a few buildings and cabins that had been purchaed by prviate owners.
The campground was made up of a store, service station, KOA recreation hall, showers and an apartment on the top floor. The owner had a large trailer out on the campground. He promised us a place to live when we came. (If we agreed to accept the job.) I thought this place held possibilities for the contactees in the futrue.
The closest post office was at an oil town named McFadden. McFadden was made up of little houses, a school and a post office. There were no stores anywhere near except the store at the KOA. We noticed that every house had snowmobiles at the back door! Later we learned why.
We decided to accept.

If I had some sort of way to see if anything was in the pasture other than just running blindly through the field, I'd have loved to use it. Any suggestions are welcome.Maybe A passive radar would also be beneficial?The presence of the aircraft make me nervous though, as while the entire experience could have been another set of coincidences, it also could imply that there were others aware of my attempts at contact and of the ET response to the Protocol. A thought: why do so many assume that the UFOs and UFO SIGHTINGS reported are aliens or ETs? Some use phrases like inter-dimensional, but I propose that perhaps they are quite often even more different than that. It stands to reason that if we're talking about the frequencies and multiple dimensions of what is thought to be a multi-verse diverging through many different frequencies that conscious life may very well evolve and grow throughout each and ever possible permutation. I'm thinking most of those consciousnesses would be outside our current realm of understanding. And we can be okay with that. Humans have a tendency to speak in declarations "this IS such and such," but never to simply admit we are okay not knowing until we are ready... Concentrated laser light in the universe may signal the presence of a technological civilizations that might be living on distant planets. "Think about humanity 300 hundred years from now," said Gfrey Marcy this past August. Marcy is currently Professor of Astronomy at the University of California, Berkeley, famous for discovering 70 out of the first 100 exo-planets. "Suppose we set up a colony on another planet... the most likely way we will communicate with (humans on those planets) is with radio signals or light beams." Marcy believes that there may be other civilizations in the universe that are years ahead of human society and might currently be communicating with radio signals in a network he calls a "galactic Internet."
Marcy uses advanced telescopes to detect concentrated signals in space. He believes these signals may indicate the existence of another advanced civilization, because nothing in the universe is known to emit such signals. The Templeton Foundation recently granted him 200,000 for his proposal.
Marcy leads a team that specializes in searching for laser light for the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, or SETI, program at UC Berkeley, a program that uses advanced telescopes to detect strong signals in an attempt to find technological civilizations in the universe.
His work is only a section of the collective effort of the organization. UC Berkeley has established a reputation as the world's largest organization - since NASA's 1993 SETI program - for exploring advanced life in the universe.
As more and more Earthlike planets are being discovered, some scientists feel that there is no longer anything "particularly special about Earth" that makes it uniquely conducive to life, according to Andrew Siemion, a project scientist in the UC Berkeley SETI group.
Every year, the program gathers approximately 1 million in funding, which is spread over 10 unique projects, according to Dan Werthimer, director of the UC Berkeley group. Distinct categories each concern a certain range of the electromagnetic wave spectrum, because the researchers cannot be sure at which wavelength other civilizations may be emitting their signals.
Werthimer says that the research is significant whether or not signs of extraterrestrial life are found.
"If we do not find life elsewhere in the universe, then that means we are one in trillions and should take incredibly good care of life on this planet," Werthimer said.
Like Marcy, all of the researchers involved are respected scientists in their field who work simultaneously on other research projects in campus departments such as astronomy and electrical engineering. Werthimer and his colleagues, for example, made the first images of the black hole at the center of the Milky Way Galaxy.
"You have to know we are not searching for crop circles or flying saucers," Marcy said with a smile.
So far, the only achievements of SETI at Berkeley are advancements in technology, as researchers have yet to find direct clues of other advanced civilizations. Nevertheless, Marcy says that these advancements are benefiting astronomy and science in general.
"I am not an optimist," Marcy said, describing the likelihood of finding intelligent extraterrestrial life. "I would bet on my house that we would fail... But this is such an important question, the question of 'Are we alone?', and the only way to find out is to risk it."
In the image at the top of the page, a glowing laser shines forth from the VLT, piercing the dark Chilean skies, its mission is to help astronomers explore the far reaches of the cosmos. To help them achieve this, professional stargazers use something that sounds as though it has come from science fiction: a laser guide star that creates an artificial star 90 km above the surface of the Earth. The laser energizes sodium atoms high in the Earth's mesosphere, causing them to glow and creating a bright dot that appears to be a man-made star.
Observations of how this "star" twinkles are fed into the VLT's adaptive optics system, controlling a deformable mirror in the telescope to restore the image of the star to a sharp point. By doing this, the system also compensates for the distorting effect of the atmosphere in the region around the artificial star. The end result is an exceptionally crisp view of the sky, allowing ESO astronomers to make stunning observations of the Universe, almost as though the VLT were above the atmosphere in space.

I advocate for tightly controlled interaction with an extraterrestrial civilization After First Contact. Not that I think alien First Contact is likely to happen soon, but if it does I think there are many reasons to suggest a conservative approach to information sharing.That said, I think it's important to note the different types of information that might be involved. Foundational information is the type of knowledge that involves the fundamentals of who they are and what they know about the universe. It can include everything from their history and biology to the nature of the cosmos and even the basic features of particle physics from their perspective. I think foundational information could be shared in the very first weeks and months After First Contact. While the information revealed might be startling, and even revelatory, it would still require humans to do some work before anything concrete in terms of technology could be obtained from those revelations. Application specific information however, would be an entirely different prospect. If aliens were to tell us how to build a more efficient and environmentally sound form of energy generation, that knowledge would have a profound and immediate impact on our private industry, economic systems and scientific structures. It would bypass the human process of discovery and create a short cut to a new technology. While that short cut would be exciting in some respects, it could create havoc in the world economy as nations and companies scramble to take advantage. One could hope that the United Nations would try to control such information, to perhaps create a global non-profit to develop the new technology, but that would fall so far outside of our current realities of government and business that it would prove nearly impossible to control in the initial months and years After First Contact. In the long term, it could prove even more disastrous- undermining our frameworks of scientific discovery and technological development.Foundational information could certainly lead to new technology and innovation, but it would require work on our part and work within the context of our current systems of science and business. Doing that work would keep our scientific efforts alive and force us to earn the reward. What might foundational information reveal? I've been reading two books lately that examine the furthest reaches of what we know, and would like to know, about the universe. Lee Smolin suggests, in his 1997 book "The Life of the Cosmos," that it could be nature of universes to reproduce via black holes, creating a multiverse. The idea of multiple universes with differing physical constants points to a larger vision of the cosmos than previously imagined. It's been a popular idea among astrophysicists and cosmologists for some time now. Paul Davies explores the many possibilities, including multiple universe theories, in his book "Cosmic Jackpot".These may sound like esoteric discussions, but at the fundamental level they struggle with the nature of our reality. It would seem likely that an extraterrestrial civilization would, at the very least, have a different view of reality than us and perhaps, especially if they are thousands of years more developed in intellectual thought, they might have revelations to offer us about the organization of the universe. This information could transform modern human cosmology and astrophysics and yet it would not have an immediate impact on the basic human societal functions. It would likely be a catalyst for new thinking in many scientific fields and cause changes in paradigms over many years and in a wide range of areas. However, the impact would be blunt and not specific. In contrast, information about specific technology would be sharp, focused and potentially disruptive.This argument assumes much. Certainly extraterrestrials could say that they would rather not share any critical information with us at all. They might decide that we are not to be trusted with such knowledge. It seems likely though, that if we do make First Contact, the question of what information we ask for and what we receive will be of paramount importance. It's essential to our future as intelligent beings in the universe that we make the right choices and take the hard road forward towards our future- an earned future.
I felt a disturbance in my side. I began to think about alien related topics, such as telepathic communication with beings, possible abductions/contact in the past, etc. Against my control, I walked to a chair (one I usually don't sit in) in my living room and gazed out the back door. I noticed a bright glowing gold craft appear in the sky, shortly followed by another beside it. I ran outside to stare at them. They displayed movement and light in which I've never thought possible of any aircraft. I noticed they shut their lights off, and I turned around and noticed my parents inside my house. I went back inside to tell them the great news, but they dismissed it. My mom then left and my step-dad went to bed. I kept staring out the back door, and I saw them again. I ran to my room to grab the dislocated scope of a gun to get a better look at them. When I went back outside, they were glowing very bright, with bursts of light. I walked out into a field to get closer. As I gazed upon the crafts, I felt an inner joy, a great bliss, in which I've never felt before. I periodically lost control of my body, and it seemed as if I offered myself to the crafts. I don't have much memory from that, but the next thing I remember was me holding up the scope to get a glimpse of the second craft, it seemed to come closer to me. I viewed it with great detail, it looked like nothing I could even imagine. It also seemed to let out a white light, which seemed as if it was aimed in my direction. I then took the scope away and saw beings maybe 15 feet away from me. I became overwrought with fear, and I began to hyperventilate. I turned to run, but I didn't make it far. Full Description of event/sighting: My husband and I were driving North on Preston Avenue, I was in the passenger seat looking out the window when I noticed this dark triangle with 3 lights hovering in the northeast sky, just sitting there. I started to ask my husband, "do you see that?." and just kept saying what ? He made a U-turn just as the triangle went straight up really fast. There was this trail of light as it went up. By the time we completed the U-turn it was gone. He never got to see we I saw, to confirm what I was seeing. I can only hope someone else seen what I seen.
