A Chevron Of Pale Yellow Lights
Terre Haute, Indiana
Date: December 9, 2003
Time: Approx: 7:00 p.m.
Number of witnesses: 1
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Apparent Triangle.
Full Description of event/sighting: While driving home from work I saw first an intense light in the southern sky as I was traveling West on Harlan Drive. I turned south on Hutchison intrigued about what this was and stopped my car about 2000 feet south of Harlan Drive on Hutchison southbound. These are country roads not much traffic at the time. It was after dark. The sky was overcast with a cloud ceiling of about 2000 feet (determined later by contacting the weather service at Hulman Field). By the time I got out of my car and looked up almost directly above me, I could see a chevron of pale yellow lights and a slowly pulsating white like in the middle of the apparent triangle of the yellow lights. There was no noise at all. The object was moving slowly north-northeast at about 50 or 60 miles per hour I would say with the point of the yellow chevron leading in the direction of travel.
I sensed it was big. It seemed like this object could not have been flying in the sense of a heavier than air airplane using traditional airfoils since it was too slow and much too big. I could have chased it with a car, but since it was going cross country, I felt I would not have been able to keep up with it. I just watched it as carefully as I could until it disappeared to the north in the tree line. Its apparent size was a bit bigger than my thumb at arms length and under the cloud cover, so it was less that 2000 feet away, so I figured that the object was from 150 to 250 feet wide between the lights. There was no detail of the body of the craft visible. The white light was not of the character of a strobe light or an anti-collision light in my opinion, it pulsed to full intensity to full off very slowly about every 5 to 10 seconds. I had no apprehension about the whole experience, only curiosity. However later I kind of regretted telling my wife and family about it, since they started teasing me about seeing aliens. Although their reaction is good-natured, the idea of it is unsettling to them. I watched the sky for a long time trying to see a repeat, but have not yet. My expectation of seeing another one is fading, but I would not mind having a second look.

Ufology Ufo Was Like Giant Triangle Seen Over Mchenry County Harvard Illinois
Date: October 2009Time: 8:45 p.m. On Thursday, October 9, 2009 at 8:45 p.m. my brother and I watched a UFO in the sky over our house in Harvard, Illinois, McHenry State. I saw the object first as it came from the southeast. The sky itself was unscrupulous, but the object was under the clouds and in clear part. I at first suffering it was a plane forthcoming from O'Hare airport as they violate over our house comparatively consistently each one forthcoming and departure. As I watched, this object didn't group to be inspiring resemblance a plane, it wasn't inspiring as rapidly and seemed auxiliary to carriage put down the sky. Organize were moreover six lights demonstration on the object. A plane unexceptionally shows four, one on the end of each wing, one organize the nose, and one organize the tail. A plane moreover unexceptionally has one blue light on one wing, and a red light on the other. The lights on this were red and age-old purely, I judge four red and two age-old. The lights twisted a row and appeared to be on two sides. I went within the house and told my brother to expand sovereign and thoroughgoing at this thing. My brother and I went put money on sovereign. The time consequently was 8:45 p.m. The object had now stirred quicker, but as we watched, it began to carriage auxiliary to the west. We watched as it stirred with a leg on each side of the sky. It floated feathers the creek that flows about 100 yards to the south of our house. It was in simple part, no obstructions. As we watched, it began to go to the northwest, but it didn't part, and pirouette resemblance a plane would. It honest at a snail's pace "floated" in that title. We watched as it drew faster to our track, in due course interim overhead honest on the west side of our house. The object was maybe a difficulty of thousand feet up, but it in spite of this appeared to be vast, resemblance a 747 would. It made no volume that we could understand. We watched as it floated to the northwest and could now see that current was a third side to the object in the middle of two auxiliary red lights and one age-old one. The object was resemblance a giant triangle, in the middle of three sides and three lights on each side. We keep no perception what it was, and in the same way as of the black social group of the harsh, unscrupulous sky, we don't report if it was series in the center, or not. We watched it for a complete of doubtless nine, or ten proceedings until it floated out of sight in the northwest. We report that it wasn't a hot-air increase in the same way as current was no enduring of the hot air burner. We keep seen heaps of hot-air balloons go over. To this day, we in spite of this do not report what it was. If you keep seen what resemblance this in the exact area fulfill be type loads to contact Brian Vike at: "sighting@telus.net" in the middle of the details of your sighting. Nicap The Year Of The Ufo May
May is a month of contrasts in terms of media and scientific treatment of the UFO subject. On May 7, 1952 Life Magazine stormed the nation's newsstands with an article boldly suggesting "There is a Case for Interplanetary Saucers." Based on interviews with scientists, government officials and highly reputable UFO witnesses, this landmark piece left little doubt that flying saucers may have an interplanetary source.
Yet, 16 years later it was left up to Look Magazine of May 14, 1968 to alert readers in a bombshell report by writer John G. Fuller that the government-financed UFO "study" at the University of Colorado was being mismanaged and hell-bent upon publicly reaching a negative conclusion about the UFO phenomenon, no matter what the findings. Entitled "Flying Saucer Fiasco," the article revealed a confidential memo and other internal information casting tons of doubt upon the Colorado project's integrity.
May 11, 1950 gave us the famous UFO photos snapped by Paul Trent of McMinnville, OR, perhaps still among the most respected still photos ever taken, based upon witness veracity and other factors. You'll also notice a sprinkling of reports in the May calendar revealing not only radar and photographic evidence, but also electromagnetic effects. For example, on May 4, 1968 a red light buzzed a ship off the coast of Nova Scotia, and intense heat was reported in association with the experience.
On May 9, 1956, the United Artists documentary motion picture, "U.F.O." was released and remains one of most important -- if rather obscure now -- movies ever made about UFOs. Please be sure to read my articles about the film at NICAP.org, easily found by typing my name into the NICAP site search engine.
(Because some areas on the May page contained minor fading of the print, I darkened the page just a little to provide a better copy of the scan.)

Canberra 15 July 1965 Two Additional Newspaper Articles Located
Hi all,
A blog reader from the United Kingdom came across my previous posts (click here, here and here ) on the observation from Canberra, ACT, on 15 July 1965, of an unusual object in the daytime sky. My reader forwarded me a copy of the front page of "The Sydney Morning Herald" dated Friday 16 July 1965 (click here to read the whole front page.) One article was headed "Airport staff see mysterious glowing object."
"Canberra. Thursday. Six of the staff at Canberra airport's control tower and two T.A.A. pilots saw a mysterious glowing object hovering in the sky for 40 minutes near the airport today.
The RAAF is investigating the reports of the object. The control tower staff, all employees of the Department of Civil Aviation said it was 10 miles north-east of the airport about 5,000 feet up. The men could not define its shape, but said it was a "glowing white spot" similar to the reflection of a light aircraft as a distance.
The RAAF sent up a plane to try and identify the object but it disappeared before the aircraft could reach it. The control officer in the control tower at the time Mr T Lindsay, said he first noticed the shiny spot about 10.50am when watching out for an aircraft. Several other people at the airport also said they had seen it, including two TAA Fokker Friendship pilots. The pilots. who had just taken off from the airfield were asked if they could see the object. They replied that they could.
Mt T Miller, an astronomer at Mt Stromlo observatory, said he had received many reports of the object but had been unable to find it. There was no astronomical explanation for the object that had been described. It was unlikely that it was an illusion or mirage because more than one trained observer had seen it. The object was also unlikely to have been a meteorological balloon because it would not have remained stationary for so long. "Heaven knows - it may have been an object from another planet," he said..."
1. Interestingly, the "Sydney Morning Herald" article states that two TAA Fokker Friendship pilots saw the object after they had just taken off from Canberra airport. However, "The Australian" newspaper of 16 July 1965 states that "...there were no planes departing from Canberra at the time nor was there any record of other aircraft in the area." These two newspaper articles are clearly contradictory on this point. Can we resolve this dilemma by taking a look at online editions of the 27 August 1965 TAA timetable? (click here to read the timetable.) Here we find that a TAA Fokker Friendship was scheduled to depart Canberra for Albury at 10.25am on Thursday 15 July 1965. If delayed it may have been taking off during the observation of the unusual object. However, we will never know for sure.
2. There are two other new pieces of information in the SMH article. a) that the RAAF sent up an aircraft; and b) that the Mt Stromlo observatory received many reports of the object. However, it should be noted that nowhere in official RAAF documents, which I located in the National Archives, is the despatch of an RAAF aircraft noted.
3. I recently learnt that although the most of the digitised newspapers in the Australian National Library are digitised only until 1954, that digitised copies of "The Canberra Times" newspaper are available up to 1995. I therefore did a search of copies of "The Canberra Times" for 1965 and located a second newspaper article which mentions the 15 July event.
"Reports on UFO not ready.
RAAF investigators have not yet completed their report on two unidentified flying object sightings in Canberra within the last fortnight.
The first sighting was reported by air traffic control officers of the Department of Civil Aviation of a white object north-east of the control tower on July 15. This is believed to have been a daylight appearance of the planet Venus.
Last Monday night, a report was made of a "white object with a tail" which flashed across the sky and was visible for about four seconds.
This is believed to have been a meteorite or rocket body burning up in re-entering into the earth's atmosphere."
We now have two additional pieces of information to add to the previously known data. However, there is one piece of negative information; something noticeably missing in all the accounts. There is absolutely no mention of whether or not the object was detected on radar. So, at the moment the observation remains a multi-witnessed visual event.

Clues To How Our Solar System Formed And Conversing With Extraterrestrials During First Contact
Welcome! "Alien Life" tracks the latest discoveries and thoughts in the various elements of the famous Drake Equation. Here's today's news:
g ABODES - Craters on the two largest objects in the asteroid belt could help identify at what point during the early solar system Jupiter was created. Vesta and Ceres are believed to be two of the oldest objects in the solar system and studying them could shed light on how our solar system has formed over time. See article.
g INTELLIGENCE - Astronomer Royal, Sir Martin Rees describes how for the first time humans as a species may start to change in observable ways within single lifetimes and under some loose control of our own influence. If this future plays out, the future itself becomes more difficult to forecast. See article. Note: This article is from 2005.
g COSMICUS - NASA has announced that Cabeus A will be the target crater for the LCROSS dual impacts next month. The LCROSS mission will search for water ice in the permanently shadowed lunar crater by sending its spent upper-stage rocket on a collision course with the moon's surface. See article.
g AFTERMATH - When we first meet extraterrestrials, will we and they be able to converse? An MIT professor argues that we will - provided they are motivated to cooperate - because we'll both think similar ways. See article. Note: This article is from 1985.

Poltergeists And Ufos Hard To Find
This will probably be short.
I was going through a few of the Sanderson materials, looking for some of the rarer resources, and found a copy of Mark Moravec's "PSIUFO PHENOMENA: A Study of UFOs and the Paranormal. "March 1982. Although an interesting monograph done by a competent UFOlogist, not many people have a copy in their research libraries. I have never met Mark Moravec, but he is/was a friendly colleague of Bill Chalker and Keith Basterfield and that's good enough for me.
Moravec proceeded in this research during the hay-day of Ozzie catalog creation, where particularly Keith Basterfield produced a number of very good compilations. [also rarely in anyone's libraries]. Moravec wanted to collect cases which seemed to involve a psychic element and see if there were patterns or even good solid evidence. He worked mainly with Ozzie cases, and was interested in "mental communications", "poltergeists", "apparitions", "healings", "ghostlights", and "time lapses".
The mental communications issue seems pretty well documented with all the "the words seemed to come from inside my head" and "their mouths never moved" sorts of testimonies, but the rest of this remains pretty marginal to me.
For whatever reason, I became interested in what was contained on the issue of the coincidence of a UFO sighting with poltergeist phenomena. Moravec believes that he has found evidence of this coincidence. I'm not so sure.
One thing that Moravec wants to note down as poltergeist phenomenon, for instance, is "levitation", such as in a car-lifting type case. I don't buy that as "poltergeist" at all. Even the possible lifting of a person, or in the famous French case, a horse, I wouldn't ascribe to "poltergeist". If I did such a thing, I'd be telling myself that the apparent "tractor beam effect" which lifted Captain Coyne's helicopter in the great Mansfield OH case was a poltergeist.
In fact, in all the Ozzie cases surveyed, Moravec found only three that he classed as poltergeist-involvement. One was an incident where the witness was force-grabbed and pulled right through a pane-glass window towards an entity. This is both not very poltergeist-like behavior, but has a rather poor UFO involved in it to boot.
The second case occurred in the middle of a flap and in this instance featured a family who would hear overhead humming sounds but could see no craft. Some lights were occasionally seen at the same time as the hums, but not apparently directly associated with the location.
The third case is the famous Rosedale water-stealer but, for me, the poltergeist is hard to find here as well. There were sounds, some loud, always seeming to be directly associated with a craft; there was a huge amount of water gone missing from the tank near the UFO, and the witness' watch stopped working normally. He reported that he could get it to run lying on the table, but not on his wrist. I'm not going to poltergeists on this one either.
The message to me is that an analysis of a lot of Ozzie cases found NO poltergeist involvement
OTHER Psi maybe, Poltergeists, no.
But are there none elsewhere? Maybe, maybe not.
Moravec began his discussion of the possible poltergeist involvement by citing what he felt was a strong Canadian case demonstrating it. So, let's take a look.
The case occurred in Wooler, ONT July 2, 1968. It's difficult to get a full write-up about it unless you have a pretty good collection of "Flying Saucer Review. "The case appears in one of their special issues [#2: "Beyond Condon", June 1969]. It is reported by an investigator, Mrs. W. Graystone, whom I do not know, but the article begins by saying that it is the result of an interview report including taped testimonies, and this material was deposited both at CAPRO, and at APRO HQ in Tucson. Because of that, I'm going to assume that the report grows out of a decent field investigation, and will place some faith in it.
Two brothers [24 and 19] saw a light descending in the sky. One brother ran and got binoculars. Lights changed from red to purplish and were rotating around the craft. The craft dropped behind a distant hill-line. All through this event the horses were panicking and running in circles. Upon entering their home, the brothers discovered one of the family cats lying frozen on its back in a catatonic state. When it ultimately recovered, it ran away never to be seen again. A second cat also ran away.
So far, we have a mild UFO case with strong animal-effects. These events happened at about 10:30pm. After telling the family, and sitting around the table enjoying a late snack, at about 11:30pm the back porch window shattered
see the photo. It had, as stated above, an unusually "clean" breaking edge. Shortly a deck of cards lifted off the table and went flying around the kitchen making a mess, and a wineglass was yanked from one of the brother's hands, sent flying to a glass-shattering crash on the floor. All three of these things are very poltergeisty, one must admit. All through that night, the kitchen seemed a source of constant clattering of utensils, some of which found their way to other locations in that room. An aroma of roses was said to permeate the kitchen.
For the next three days, nothing would happen during the day, but by evening rattlings and movements would occur. The men of the family sat down there in the dark trying to catch a culprit or in some way get explanations for things, with no luck. The latter of those days, these events were also witnessed by a local contingent of police and a Toronto reporter. Even audiotapes were made. Manifestations apparently continued on more or less a nightly routine for a while.
The initial window breakage elicited interest. A glazier was brought in to inspect it. He was baffled by the fact that the edges of the break were "uniformly smooth". No jagged nor irregular areas at all. Adding to that mystery, the window pieces were thrown outward into the porch, not inward to the house. As a subjective stretch of the imagination, viewers of the breakage pattern began to see it [adding missing hole in glass and prominent window cracks together] as the form of a Dove flying away. I'll leave that part to everyone's own level of acceptability, although you CAN see it in the glass if you want to, without much imagination.
Just after recognizing the pattern, the investigative group turned off the house lights and sat in the dark waiting. The strong odor of the roses immediately returned, but that was the only manifestation, and from that time nothing else has happened. In subsequent days there were some explorations of the distant hillsides where circular annular ring traces were found, dating somewhat before the UFO witnessing however, and a peculiar substance [unidentified] found outside the house, which had acidic properties, burning the skin. Whether any of that is related, who knows?
And that is the point of the whole thing. The UFO was "real" though not much, unless the traces were somehow related, and the poltergeist was apparently spectacularly real. They didn't quite happen at the same time, although the effect on the cat inside the house seems to have. So, is this a coincidence of two anomalous occurrences, or a connection?
In another probable coincidence, one hour earlier there were two UFO cases in Quebec, both involving entities [one with many seen inside a craft, and the other, more folkloric without a UFO, of two small entities chased by police]. Again: connected or not?
Two people, who at one time in their UFO careers would have given credence to the possibility that these events were all connected, were Allen Hynek and Jacques Vallee [Jacques more forcefully than Allen, of course]. In 1975, they published some conversations that they had with Arthur Hastings in a very unusual book entitled "The Edge of Reality", which most of you know. This book caught many people by surprise as it revealed a willingness in Hynek to see elements of the UFO mystery in paranormal terms rather than as natural phenomena or nuts-and-bolts. Of course Jacques was well into paranormal views of the subject, as "Passport to Magonia "attests. In their discussions, one case stood out to them as a possible clue or gateway case to getting at these pieces of the puzzle.
The case was "Ely, NV; February 14, 1974". The quick thumbnail is this:
"Two brothers were moving some of their possessions in a truck near Ely, Nevada. At around 4:15 a.m. the engine of the truck began missing and the lights flickered, so they shifted into neutral. They then felt a blast of wind shake the truck and saw an orange colored light moving low to the ground from right to left. They stopped the truck and saw six different lights or objects surrounding them: three blue stationary lights, a red pulsating light, a silver colored saucer, and a reddish-orange saucer. The red light then came directly at the truck, passed close by, and continued on behind them. After the objects had finally disappeared, they found the rear axle on the truck broken in half. (Source: Mark Rodeghier, UFO Reports Involving Vehicle Interference, case 360, citing CUFOS)."
Interesting yes, but what does it have to do with the paranormal?
The paranormal element of this event is that when it was happening the brothers' Mother was awakened by one of her son's voices calling "Mom!". She saw no apparition, but felt that he was right there. The father did not hear anything, but the cot on which he was sleeping began rattling and shaking so that he, too, woke up. Poltergeist? Physical effects of family member at-a-distance? Same thing?
Maybe I'm just a curmudgeon on these [few] cases, but they have the feeling of something paranormal tripped off by the UFO encounter, but not deliberately caused by it. That is, the UFO is itself; the paranormal event is something entirely different sitting there waiting for circumstances to enable it. If UFOs were DELIBERATELY creating paranormal or pseudo-paranormal manifestations, I'd think that my files would have a whole pile of them.
I think that Jacques felt differently. I believe that, at least at this point in his career he was wide open to the possibilities that UFO manifestations were not only largely paranormal, in some senses of that word, but actively stimulating the paranormal in observers. The following is not precisely in that line, but it illustrates Jacques' willingness to incorporate beliefs in Spiritual and psychic entities into his thinking at the time. From the book:
Hastings was speaking of the beginnings of electrical research and the topic slid over to Mesmerism [which was originally very closely allied]. Hastings: "They didn't even call mesmerizing magic, and that was far weirder".
Vallee: "Mesmerizing has been called magic. There were several books written against Mesmer, saying his experiments were all works of the Devil."
Hastings: "Well, I don't know; it's reproducible on demand".
Vallee: "So is The Devil!".
At that point, a probably very uncomfortable Allen Hynek steered the conversation back to UFOs. The point of bringing this up is that Jacques, and presumably many others, would be willing to employ quite active psychic and spiritual entities within the encounters of UFOlogy as causal agents of immediate or subsequent "psychic" events. My problem with this is not Ontological, as a Catholic I'm "all in" on the existence of demonic or daemonic or little people or tricksters potentially meddling in all sorts of things. BUT, it would make me feel a lot more comfortable with the hypothesis if I could find some significant pile of strong cases in which UFOs and such meddling-trickster activity seemed closely related.
As we've gone through the 20th century to the 21st, we've expanded our hypotheses [ ballooned our bullshit?] on what poltergeists are about, but clarity seems elusive. It's probably still true that most parapsychologists want to believe that poltergeists are the subconscious psychokinetic mind-blastings of young stress-filled hormonal-raging teenagers. I don't buy it. Maybe there's something there %-wise, but there are WAY too many cases where nothing of the sort makes sense. Sometimes it seems to be the "thing"/location not the person passing through, for instance.
Theories include: a]. the above; b]. restless spirits of the dead {aware or unaware of the fact}; c]. "recording and playback" of some past event; d]. slippage of time {past images}, or space {wrong things appearing and disappearing}; e]. other psychic manifestations {doppelgangers, apparitions}; f]. tricksters et al; g]. interfacing with other parts of the Universe, possibly even poorly controlled ET-technology effects; h]. Satan and his minions.... etc. John Keel once tried to claim that there was a correlation between UFOs and poltergeists, of which I've found no evidence. Doubtless he would, however, approve of all the speculations above.
This is one of the things in UFOlogy that I don't believe that I have any emotional "leanings" about at all
as an honest person, I have such "leanings" about many other things, which I try to fight off with data, but this business... I don't think that I care one way or the other. BUT, I find no evidence that UFOs are deliberately causing poltergeists, and probably none that they are even related
out of several hundred thousand events there are bound to be one or two coincidences.
He Was Inclined Towards The Extraterrestrial Hypothesis
Jacques F. Vall'ee, a French astronomer and passenger terminal scientist who was recurring for his help to ufology.
His call in UFOs was awakened in his youth, once upon a time he sighted in his confined in 1955 an unidentified flying object. In 1961 hewas referred to his letter at the Paris Observatory witnessed the tapes were broken down, at which the trajectories of multifaceted objects were recorded.
At first he was complete towards the extraterrestrial hypothesis, so, believes that UFOs are spaceships from an aliencivilization. For a zip or two we watched it, sit it was a plane, although not on a place flight focus.
As it approached, it was unspoken, no name what so consistently, plus in the disaffect a zip light appeared. The first one pasted by store north, followed by the zip. In carry out we hallucination we counted nine, in five to ten minutes. All nine travelled from south to north in a outstanding line straight spaced. The Pacific Bermuda Triangle The Dragon Triangle A K A The Devil Sea
The "Devil's Sea" and the Dragon's Triangle located in the Philippine Sea off China's eastern coast is known for vanishing ships and seamen similar to the legendary Bermuda Triangle. While sensational theories for the mysterious disappearances speak of extraterrestrials and lost kingdoms under the sea wreaking havoc, others believe that the region displays the same magnetic anomalies as the Bermuda Triangle.
The area, which can be marked off on a map by connecting Japan, Taiwan, and Yap Island, has become known as the Dragon's Triangle after a centuries-old Chinese myth. According to the myth, dragons live deep beneath the surface and their movement can suddenly churn up waves, whirlpools, thick fog, and sudden storms.
In 1950, Japanese officials declared the triangle a danger zone for shipping. In 1952, a research vessel, the Kaio Maru No. 5, sent by the Japanese government to investigate the troubled waters, vanished without a trace, and 22 crewmen and nine scientists were lost.
Like the Bermuda Triangle, the Devil's Triangle area may be volatile, subject to sudden weather changes and ocean swells not yet understood. Undersea volcanoes are believed to influence the area's sudden environmental changes. Others cite mikakunin hiko-buttai, Japanese for UFOs. (SOURCE)
The area is rife with undersea volcanoes. Islands appear and disappear regularly due to the volcanic activity. Apparently, the area got its name from the volcanic activity and resultant formations and deformations resulting from the lava flow.
Some mystery mongers claim that the Bermuda and Dragon's triangles are directly across from one another and that if you went from the center of one through the earth you'd end up in the center of the other. Even if this were true, it would have no bearing on the dangers that exist in one or the other.
Recently, some have been promoting the idea that the area is an undersea alien base and that the dragons were actually USOs, unidentified submerged objects. (SOURCE)
You can notice in the above picture that has been taken from satellite and 4 objects clearly seen in dragons triangle. You may also notice that they looks like UFO's spaceships that mostly people claims that they have seen some flying ships. The Dragon's Triangle on the opposite spot of the earth as the Bermuda Triangle. Considering the unique history of both regions it can't be coincidence. The only other places on earth that are in exact opposite locations are the Poles. (SOURCE)
The famous Japanese Utsuro bune legend of 1803 describes a box shaped hollow boat, resembling a kou-hako (incense burner). Inside was a "foreign" woman described as having unique physical characteristics. There are many collected stories and books written describing this incident. The credibility of these books have been questioned, yet it has been verified that these books were written prior to 1844, long before the modern UFO era.
Modern linguist and author Charles Berlitz made his own mark on the topic in his 1989 book, The Dragon's Triangle. Of the many missing ships recorded - ranging from small fishing boats, large 200,000-ton (181,439-metric ton) tankers, American and Japanese warships and airplanes, and Soviet nuclear missile submarines - few revealed signs of wreckage, oil slicks or flotsam. Berlitz traces UFO and USO (unidentified submerged objects) activity in this area back to the 12th century.
Many view natural environmental changes as the cause of the controversial anomalies. One of these explanations is the vast field of methane hydrates present on the bottom of the ocean in this area. Methane clathrates (methane hydrate ice) will "flash" into a gas when it rises above 64.4^0F (18^0C). The gas eruptions can interrupt buoyancy and can easily sink a ship, leaving no trace of debris. The gas will also explode if it comes within contact of an open flame. Other natural explanations involve agonic lines, volcanic activity and tectonic plate movement.
There has been much speculation on supernatural theories explaining the events in this region. Some have considered the region a gateway to another dimension, a parallel universe or a black hole. Atlantis technology has been suggested and of course, no conjecture would be complete without the possibility of alien involvement.
Many submit the locations of the triangles cannot be coincidental, proposing these areas were at one time polar opposites.
Whether a person's preference is in scientific explanations of natural occurring events or of supernatural theories, the Dragon's Triangle is one of the world's most intriguing mysteries. Perhaps, as science advances and the supernatural becomes more clearly understood, the day will come when the answers will unfold in the form of a combined explanation.

Edgar Mitchell Former Astronaut Sued By Nasa For Trying To Sell Apollo Camera
By Lee Speigelweirdnews.aol.com7-1-11 The space shuttle isn't the only old piece of NASA equipment that's making headlines. The space agency has filed suit against Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar Mitchell in an attempt to reclaim a 40-year-old camera.A federal lawsuit filed Wednesday in Miami claims that Mitchell, the lunar module pilot and sixth man to walk on the moon, illegally tried to auction off a camera he used during his 1971 lunar mission."Defendant Edgar Mitchell is a former NASA employee who is exercising improper dominion and control over a NASA Data Acquisition Camera," NASA alleged in court documents obtained by The Palm Beach Post.... Athena Arcturian Alien Power In Space
ARCTURIAN ALIEN POWER IN SPACE
ARCTURIANS
SET OUT TO PROTECT EARTH, ATHENA IS NOW KNOWN TO BE THE MOST POWERFUL AND MOST ADVANCED STARSHIP IN THE GALAXY.
"ARCTURUS IS THE HIGHEST CIVILIZATION IN OUR GALAXY." - EDGAR CAYCE
STARSHIP ATHENA IS AN ARCTURIAN STARSHIP THAT HAS BEEN SAID TO BE THE MOST ADVANCED AND FEARED SHIP IN THE GALAXY. FOR THIS REASON, ARCTURIANS HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PROTECT AND PREVENT ANY INVASION OF OUR PLANET EARTH FROM GREY ALIENS AND REPTILIAN ALIENS. ARCTURIAN STARSHIP ATHENA QUIETLY RESIDES BETWEEN THE PLANETS JUPITER AND SATURN AWAITING ANY INVADING ARMADA FROM THE GREYS OR REPTILIANS. GREY ALIENS DISCOVERED THE PLENTIFUL SOURCES OF NEGATIVE ENERGIES THROUGHOUT PLANET EARTH AND SENT WORD SO THEIR ENTIRE RACE COULD FIND A NEW HOME. AS THEY ENTERED THE OUTER LIMITS OF OUR SOLAR SYSTEM THE STARSHIP ATHENA WAITED PATIENTLY CLOAKED AND READY TO REPEAL THE UNWANTED RACE OF GREY'S. SEEN AS AN OPPORTUNITY THE REPTILIANS SENT FOR A FLEET OF THEIR OWN WAR SHIPS TO COMBAT THE ATHENA IN HOPES THAT AN ALLIANCE WITH THE GREYS' SHIPS WOULD ENSURE VICTORY; HOWEVER, AS FAST AS THEY CAME TO FIGHT, EVERY GREY AND REPTILIAN VESSEL WAS EITHER REPEALED OR DESTROYED BY THE POWERFUL ATHENA AND ITS ABILITY TO EMIT AN IMMENSE DEFENSIVE SHIELD AND SURPRISED THEIR ENEMIES WITH COUNTER-OFFENSIVE WEAPONRY THAT CAN ONLY BE DESCRIBED AS EXTRATERRESTRIAL.THIS STARSHIP IN PARTICULAR IS UNIQUE IN MANY ASPECTS RANGING FROM ITS FIFTH DIMENSIONAL POSITION AND ITS ETHERIC OCCUPANTS WHO CAPTAIN THE GREAT VESSEL. IT IS KNOWN TO BE FUELED BY ILLUMINATED CRYSTALS.
THESE CRYSTALS HAVE FORCES THAT CAN CHANNEL ENERGY AS MASSIVE AS OUR CELESTIAL STAR (SUN) AND PROPEL THE SHIP FOR MILLENNIA. THESE CRYSTALS ARE FOUND IN A PLANET, IN OUR MILKY WAY GALAXY, NOT DISCOVERED BY MODERN MAN. IT ALSO HAS A SPECIAL ROOM, THE SIZE OF A FOOTBALL STADIUM, WHICH HAS THE ABILITY TO TAKE ANY CREW MEMBER BACK TO THE ARCTURIAN HOME PLANET IN HIS ETHERIC (MAGICAL) BODY.
ATHENA IS ALSO HOME TO THE MOST ADVANCED DATABASES OF UNIVERSAL INFORMATION. THIS DATABASE HAS INFORMATION REGARDING EARTH LIFE AND LIFE THROUGHOUT THE OTHER MILKY WAY GALAXY PLANETS. ARCTURIANS ARE ABLE TO INGEST INFORMATION BY MEANS OF THEIR TELEPATHIC ABILITIES. THIS PROCESS IS SIMILAR TO INGESTING FOOD BUT IT OCCURS ON AN ENERGY LEVEL. THEY ARE ABLE TO ASSIMILATE INFORMATION ONE HUNDRED TIMES FASTER THAN THE AVERAGE HUMAN BEING ON EARTH AND IS THE REASON WHY THEY OUTGREW THE NEED FOR USING COMPUTERS/ELECTRONICS.
ATHENA IS ONE OF THE MOST ADVANCED SHIPS IN THE GALAXY ALONG WITH ITS OCCUPANTS THAT INHABIT THE GREAT WAR VESSEL. ALTHOUGH ARCTURIANS ARE A PEACEFUL RACE THAT BELIEVE IN A HIGHER PLAIN OF LIVING, IT IS STILL NECESSARY FOR THEM TO POSSESS STARSHIPS CAPABLE OF DEFENDING OTHER RACES AND THEIR HOME PLANET(S). BECAUSE THEY DO NOT INGEST FOOD LIKE WE DO THEY ARE ABLE TO SUSTAIN THEIR BODIES THROUGH MEDITATION. THIS ALSO ELIMINATES THE NEED FOR SLEEP AND OTHER LIMITING FUNCTIONS THAT HUMAN, GREYS, AND REPTILIAN BODIES NEED.

Spooklit
The Kansas City Star
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Keith L. Partain, a Tulsa researcher,
would like to put an end to speculation over the Tri-State Spook
Light, but it won't be easy.
In the century since it was first sighted, the spook light has
offered enough mystery to spin a perfect Halloween tale. Several,
in fact.
According to local lore, the light that floats along a lonely
backwoods road southwest of Joplin is the tragic spirit of two
Quapaw Indian lovers who committed suicide nearby.
Another story describes the light as the glow of a lantern used
by a miner still searching for his children, kidnapped by Indians
in the 1870s.
One Carthage resident wrote a book this year speculating that
the light is a guiding system for interplanetary travel.
More down-to-earth observers believe the spook light is merely
reflected headlights from cars on a nearby highway, or perhaps
stems from luminous swamp gases or blinking government survey
signals.
Partain, 34, a laboratory technician, has developed a new theory.
Comparisons of sightings and photographs led him to project that
two types of lights actually appear on Spook Light Road, about
three miles southwest of the Missouri-Oklahoma-Kansas border.
Most of the time, spook light watchers are seeing nothing more
than car headlights refracted up from Interstate 44 by water vapors from the nearby Spring River, Partain said. The highway is seven to
10 miles from the road.
But about every 10 years, the real spook light appears in the
form of ball lightning, he said.
Ball lightning is a self-contained sphere of electrical energy
in which lightning appears in the shape of a sphere rather than
vertical bolts. It is a rare, natural phenomenon that is
unpredictable and, therefore, difficult to study, scientists say.
"The real spook light exists, but it is extremely rare," said
Partain, whon has degrees in entomology and zoology. "When all you
see is a little wriggle at the end of the road, it's one car
following another on a distant road."
He said he became intrigued with the spook light seven years ago
after reading about it in a magazine. His conclusion that ball
lightning accounted for some of the sightings stems from a March
1977 photograph by Joplin Globe reporter Marta Churchwell along
with published reports of several sightings.
The photograph showed a ball of light with a connected filament
shooting off from the parent body, he said. Because the ball was in front of the treeline, its appearance was not distorted by tree
branches, so such a filament would indicate the presence of ball
lightning, he said.
One of the sightings that also underlies his theory occurred in
1955. During the sighting, the spook light was seen by an observer
whose back was to the general direction of the highway which is now Interstate 44, ruling out headlight refraction as a cause, Partain
said.
Comparisons of the sightings and photographs revealed that they
occurred when there were no or few sunspots, Partain said. Thus, he speculates that the appearance of ball lightning is linked to low
sunspot activity, nighttime and periods surrounding the fall and
spring equinoxes.
The three factors combine, he believes, to weaken the earth's
ionosphere to allow radiation from outside the solar system to fall on the Joplin area and create ball lightning.
"There is a bump, or anomaly, in the earth's magnetic field in
that area which could attract cosmic radiation," Partain said.
Ideal conditions for ball lightning occur throughout an 18-month
period every 10 or 11 years, he believes.
Harry Shipman, a professor of physics at the University of
Delaware and former education officer for the American Astronomical Society, said Partain's belief that the light was caused by either
headlights or ball lightning appears to be logical.
"Ball lightning may be behind a lot of UFO reports and things
like that," Shipman said. "He's also got a point that when you
look into UFO reports, a lot of them can be headlights coming from
unexpected areas."
Shipman said, however, that he would be surprised if the sunspot
cycle could be correlated with ball lightning in any one place.
Despite the scientific explanations, some spook light watchers
believe it is a mystery. Some, such as Jack Winter of Afton, Okla.,
say the land has too many hills and trees to enable headlights to
shine through.
"It's still an open question with most people here," said
Harlan Stark, a farm editor and reporter for the Neosho Daily News.
"Many residents take out-of-town guests to see the spook light
and enjoy its aura of mystery. I imagine most of them wouldn't like to see it explained too well," he said.
Suzanne Gilpin, assistant manager of the Joplin Chamber of
Commerce, said people from as far away as Texas and California have inquired about the spook light since it was featured on the
television show "Real People" several years ago.
"On a nice evening, especially at this time of year, it can be
bumper-to-bumper down there," Mrs. Gilpin said.
ears ago.
"On a nice evening, especially at this time of y
