As I mentioned in yesterday's post, the Certified MUFON Field Investigator exam covers five main categories, and even though it's an open-book exam and the exam is actually in the book, I still think it's important to prepare. Do I meet the five standards? Will I be the best Certified MUFON Field Investigator I can be?
The very first item is perhaps the most difficult, because it is the most important:
"o INVESTIGATIVE ETHICS. Most importantly, the Trainee must understand and adhere to the tenet of anonymity (withholding witness identifiers from persons who are not part of the UFO report investigation or its evaluation within MUFON)."
I think I'm already meeting this standard quite nicely. If you've read this blog much, you'll know that I regularly redact the names of people I interview and quote, so as to maintain their anonymity and shield them from ridicule. For instance, I will always refer to my wife Monica as "my wife Mxxxxx," because she really doesn't want to be mentioned here by name and I fully respect that.
Is it ethical to do the ethical thing only because I think it's funny? I think that may actually elevate me to a level of meta-ethicalness that few if any UFO Field Investigators have ever reached, or ever hope to. What makes it even better is that several people have mentioned to me that they quite enjoy seeing their names redacted in my blog, so not only do my investigative ethics serve a higher purpose, they make the people I quote feel good about their redacted selves. I think I am really opening up new vistas in ethicalness, and I hope I will be recognized for my efforts someday.
I don't stop at redacting names, though. In order to fully respect the anonymity of the witnesses I interview, I always make a deliberate effort to mentally pixilate their faces when I interview them. For example, if you and I were both talking to the same person, you would see this:

"FULL DESCRIPTION OF EVENT/SIGHTING:" This is going way back when I was twelve years old. My buddy and I were sitting on a folded down tent trailer looking up at the stars in my parents backyard. I use to live smack dab in the middle of south side Edmonton, near Scona High school. We were looking toward the southern sky when I noticed movement to the southwest.
I pointed as a fast moving object (moving north), veered from the southwest 90 degrees, went right over our heads and continued north and out of sight. The whole event maybe took 10 seconds or less. The object(s) were discs, one in the middle, with four surrounding it. It could been one object with the aforementioned configuration underneath it.
The color was like the glowing embers of a campfire, only green. It made no noticeable sound. The object was maybe flying at 1000 feet. As the flight path for our downtown airport (the Muni) was only about 7 blocks to the west, I have seen hundreds of 737's on approach from the south going north and I would estimate the size of the object as 4 - 737's.
We never officially reported this, but the international airport to the south and the municipal airport to the north must have seen on radar, or visually seen the object as the night was perfectly clear. It was such a fantastic experience, I know there is something up there that doesn't even come close to looking or being natural.
I haven't thought about this event very much in the past 39 years, but I know what I saw. By emailing this, I was hoping somebody else might have seen this. I know it was a long time ago, but there is something out there and feel privileged to have seen what saw and it gives me a different perspective on life. Thank you.

And the triangle I saw did not have any lights in the middle, or, at it's points either, but the object was a shade darker than the surrounding sky in a triangle shape.

Regardless, no one knows if the triangles, or any UFO, belong to extraterrestrials or not. I have no idea who, or what, is behind the triangles, but I do know they exist. It's been a puzzle for decades; who is behind the triangles? Military, shadow government, private industry, some combination, aliens, -- some combination, again -- we don't know.
